As Aviation Advisor, you’re going to be playing a vital role in maintaining and improving our operational excellence. Providing expert advice on the safe and efficient use of aircraft and air transport services in support of the Shell Business Unit aviation strategy. In practice that means you’ll be running operational and technical audits of contractors and logistics teams; producing reports in accordance with Shell Aircraft processes and procedures; and making sure any audit recommendations are actioned by aviation management. You can also expect to be involved with air safety accident and incident investigations.

You would work out of Rotterdam, and need an ATP license or equivalent.

I know nothing about any of this. But I can knock on things and say “looks good to go !” really convincingly.

If you can do that and not approach a helicopter while the rotors are spinning, you’re good.

I would think that the Venn diagram of people who hold an   ATP and people who are interested in this job might be just two separate circles

I live in Rotterdam, am looking actively for a different job, but have zero knowledge on aviation or atp licenses. Then again, it wouldnt the first time they put someone in charge of something they have zero knowledge of.

i dont know what ATP is... but i still have all my limbs wich means im an expert in accident avoidance.... i also speak passable dutch

and im reasonably sure that when i need to investigate an incident ill be able to expertly point and say..... blimey! thats gone horribly wrong

i think im qualified

I think you should be able approach spinning rotor s too . Just leave at least 5 0 mm of safety margin between the blades and your body parts. Double the amount on windy days.

I would also recommend that you tell whoever is responsible for the accident to not do that again, and maybe sack them.

That ought to cover all the bases.

ATP = Airline Transport Pilot- in case it comes up in the interview

I don’t have an ATP, but if they wanted to pay me for one.... That would be an interesting gig. High stakes too.

It’s funny that you posted this. I have had two head hunters hit me up in the last week.  Both are managing director grade roles. One is a Seattle based carrier named for a different state and another is way out West with Jets in Canada. I’ve got an interview in a radically different part of our business next week.  I’ve loved what I’ve done, but kind of ready for a change.

Truth. We talked about that. I get the vibe that there is  some important stuff that they still haven’t really figured out.

I have an ATP, as well as experience working with the FAA and managing all aspects of a 135 charter business (I started it, owned it, and wore all the hats before selling).

This job would be a huge Nooooooooope for me. That’s a hell of a lot of headache and liability for what is likely less pay and way less time off  than anyone with an ATP can get working for an airline.
