OK, it didn’t work any better than the flat antenna in the window, and I broke the mounts on the F connector. I’ll repair that and try it again with some better, and perhaps shorter, cables.

The yagi is pointed backwards, methinks. It should point towards the dish, the way that the horn would have been installed.

Hate to say it but.... t hat’s a bit random.
I’ve never had much luck with that style of UHF antenna. The last one I had that worked well was a phased array...

Nah, I’m just using the mounting location for the LNB to hold the antenna. The dish really doesn’t have anything to do with this setup ; it was just there and I didn’t feel like removing it. I'm not using it as part of the antenna.

The dish isn’t part of the antenna - I just didn’t feel like removing it and used the LNB mount to hold the antenna in the approximate direction of the transmission towers I'm trying to reach . The antenna was just a $20 thing I found on eBay that would probably work better on the top on the building, but I don’t have access to that area. Maybe I'll seek out something closer to what you showed, although I'm questioning whether it's really necessary for my needs.
This is what we'll show whenever you publish anything on Kinja:

Star for knowing what a Yagi is.
