What happens when you put a 3SGTE in an AW11, you make it really fast.

The guy I sold my 87 AW11 to is almost done putting a 3SGTE into it.  He said it is a rocket right now.  He upgraded to the Supercharged trans though.

I don't think I've seen a Mini Cooper convertible used sportingly before.

Panning looks good for your first attempt! These shots look a little over-exposed, though. Add a bit of contrast & saturation and these ought to look pretty good.

And if you really want your car shots to shine, pick up a cheap circular polarizing filter. Totally changes the game.

I set it on the recommendation of C letus, it was 1/125 F8 iso200.

I punched up your Veloster shot a little. I played with the levels to darken the blacks, essentially dropping the exposure. A little bit more saturation and contrast to help bring out that unique blue. You could make these same adjustments on your raw file and have even better results. And don’t be shy about cropping in on your subject! Your camera has a nice megapixel count unlike mine, so you can really do a lot of ‘zooming’ in on your subject by cropping in post.

Keep at it, you’ve got a good eye. Just gotta get some practice in.

I would shoot raws if I had the space. I was just shooting Large. The camera is 9 year old Canon Rebel T2i I got used for $150 with 2 lenses (18mm-55mm & 55mm-250mm). I was using the 55mm-250mm the whole time.

Shooting raw really really helps your ability to fix stuff you didn’t get quite right in-camera. You don’t have to necessarily keep the raw files forever, but it’s nice to be able to have the ability to fix what you want and then just export the rest to jpegs to keep.

I’m using a similar age Nikon D700 with a 210mm. Secondhand gear is great.
