It’s really good.

Smooth with a little warmth.

Very well priced too.

Are they actually made from writers’ tears? I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t. I want to drink their failed dreams and taste their lamentations .

I would hope to think 70cl  of an actual writers tears would be a lot more expensive than £35.

That, right there, is a proper hefty pour...

So how is it?

How’s the flavoring?

I learned last year that’s from the same makers of The Irishman whiskey. Another name I’m not fond of (nor do I like the entry level stuff) but the single malt and founders reserve are quite good.  Especially since the latter can be found on close-out for under $30  (it was $55 at release).

It’s really good.

I’ve never really been able to characterise the flavours unless they really stood out, but it’s smooth, easy drinking with a little warmth at the back of the mouth.

I’ll have to try it.

I enjoy decent Whiskey on occasion.

Ye, when I first got into Irish whiskey I started off with the blended Bushmills, but then over time I experienced the single grains and single malts, and now the blended ones aren’t as enjoyable as they once were, but now and then one shines through.

I have to say my favourite presently is the Feeling Single Grain.

It’s nice and well priced.

My standard tipple is now either Jameson or a triple distilled Scotch called Auchentoshan, American Oak. Both great, very easy drinking and both cheap.

I enjoy Jameson.

A friend of mine recently acquired 8 barrels of a now defunct business’s whiskey, it is obscenely smooth, with a wonderful after taste. I’ve been enjoying that on occasion lately.

I don’t drink much anymore, so when I do I want 2 fingers of good stuff with a single cube of ice.

Nice one.

I bought some granite rocks to chill my whiskey. Avoids diluting it.

Sometimes they need the slight diluting to bring out the full flavor. Seems counter productive, but it’s something I’ve heard many times.

Ye’, I get that with island scotch whiskies but I always have my Irish whiskeys neat, unless it’s a blended.
