This truck has been for sale near me for a while. While I appreciate  the idea the execution is poor.  this looks like a rust leopard skin truck.  Also I would not by someone’s project if they didn’t having matching lugs and at least one missing one.  Some details are okay to leave out and some details reveal the inner workings of the craftsman more than he/she may like.

crud.  I think it was an LX450 they were using.  Maybe against an H2 or H3?  Im looking for ANY legit review of the vehicle from that time period.

When it comes to cars t here is something about the faux looks that really rub me the wrong way. It’s like when rich guys spend a ton of money to have somebody build them a rat rod. It just misses what made the original thing a “thing”.

I agree.  I don’t mind sealing in actual patina.  There is something charming about driving a car thats properly aged and protecting it from getting to the point of ruining it, but faking patina just feels so willfully poser.

to be fair they look a lot better with some meat on their bones.

we didn’t choose them, they were on it when we bought it and...well...meh. (it was in much better shape when we owned it...this was a spotting about 4 years after we sold it)

For the most part I agree. If half the paint is baked off the car, that’s not cool, that just looks bad IMO, but if it’s a few minor imperfections from age, I can dig it.
