We met at the museum in Sacramento, where they showed us their Model A cars that you can actually learn to drive. They gave us the route, and off we went. I tracked the day on the Polarsteps app, which was fun.

SAs you can see, it was again a really cool group of 18 cars from a variety of eras and makes. The coolest part of the morning was that one of the guys at the museum told me he wanted to take pics of my car. Infiniti is sponsoring a Japanese classics show for Monterey Car Week, and he wanted to submit my car for consideration. Wow. My little ‘chaser could be at Car Week. So cool.

First stop: Woodland, Ca: Reiff’s Gas Station (no gas)

This guy has mocked up his house with kitsch to an old style garage and gas station that he rents for events. Nice guy. On a side note, they guy with the classic Jag (is that an XK?) was here last year, and he drives that think like a total boss. Respect.

Off to Marysville, where our stop was a temple built by Chinese immigrants in the late 1800s.

After that, we stopped for lunch in Oroville, where I did not take any pictures. Then we stopped at a monastery in Tehama county where the monks make wine. They have a church there that was reconstructed in the 2000s from the 900 year old bricks of a church that was dismantled and brought to the US decades ago. It is an amazing feat that they figured our how to put the rubble back together without blueprints.

We stopped for the night at an Indian casino where I won $235 playing slots for about 15 minutes. All in all a pretty good day. It is 3:15 am as I write this and I can’t sleep. L ots of driving tomorrow.

Hmm quite a few newer cars at the rally! I think the requirement on their site had said pre 1978? With room for exceptions of course, but I didn't think post '90s would qualify. Seems like a fun adventure though, looking forward to see the rest.

The fact no one got their car stolen along that route is amazing enough.

Looks like you’re kinda following HWY99?

Looking at the array of cars, and if “interesting” is the standard, if it were more presentable and ran dependably, I should think Rusty would have a shot at being accepted for entry.
