(update turns out we sent someone to check on her about an hour after she had a stroke... so thats fucking lucky.. her speech centre has been affected so it could be a while before she has all her words again... at the moment all she has is yes and bloody (bloody came out when served a bad cuppa... so that figures) shes got a fair chunk of recovery to go and her speech may never be quite right again... but shes not a vegetable so we’ll take it

missus will be flying over once her mum gets released from hospital to be around the house for a week or so and make sure shes ok)

mother in law was supposed to skype us today at noon

when she didnt and we couldnt get ahold of her any other way we sent over someone to go have a check on her

turns out shes had a stroke sometime either last night or this morning

she currently in the hospital awaiting ct scan results but when she was found she could only say yes.... so thats not fucking great

the missus is obviously having a hard time about it but as we arent in the same country theres fuck all we can do other than make phonecalls and get updates... wait and see.. fingers crossed

daughter doesnt know yet... so theres more drama ahead.... right in the middle of her exams too (like there is such a thing as good timing for this kinda thing)

yes the missusses brother n sister still live in the same town (its the sister we called to go check on her)

missus might fly over sometime this week if needed

i cant as ive got to work and me daughter has her exams wich she really cant be missing

Sorry man, good thing you sent someone to check on her. I w ent thru the same thing with my dad, but it was a missed phone call. If my sister’s intuition hadn’t kicked in, the doctor' s said he would of been dead if  he laid there one more day. I h ope she can recover from this.

No worries. The local authorities are responsible for making sure that any living assistance materials are in place prior to her returning home such as hand rails on doorways, bathrooms, beds, etc... finding and providi ng care if needed.

looks like she will be mostly ok (updated the post)

That’s great news.

With strokes you need to catch them as soon as the onset as possible so it’s great news she’s okay especially getting treatment so long after the incident.

Fingers crossed it was a trans ient ischemic attack and   she makes a full recovery.

She’s amazingly lucky. My great-aunt died after her stroke. As far as we can tell, she had it on a Friday but nobody noticed until Monday when she didn’t show up for work.

Good luck. Lots of prayers heading her way.

she’s very lucky to still be able to speak, my father lost the ability when he had his

Sorry to hear that... but yeah... very lucky you sent someone over and it wasn’t long after it happened.
