This also asks for lots of money.

280hp/247lb-ft be absolutely perfect.
According to the seller is #338 out of about 600 B3's sold. 159 of those where sedans, out of that 159 not very many where manual.

I saw the picture and thought “ sweet car but why does TCK want a slushbox”. Then I scrolled down and went “ ooooohhh me likey”.
Pricing seems rich, I think you can get an M3 ( with 53 more hp) still for that kind of money, can’t you?

Yup thats M3 money , but I still go with the Alpina. They never sold a M3 sedan, so this be as close as you can get to one. Also Alpinas are fucking cool.

Th
ey
have
a
cool
factor
over
the
M3,
for
sure.
I
love
those
wheels!
50 HP is a lot though - though I’m sure the Alpina rides better.
If this was an auto, I would declare it a CP , because E46 auto transmissions suck.

If a B3 & M3 park beside each other, most likely at C&C. Chances are you walk right past the M3 right to the B3 first.

That is absolutely true. I’ve never seen an Alpina 3 series in my life, and probably only 1-2 Alpina 5s. 6ers and 7ers are everywhere but not the smaller cars.

That probably comes to cost. The 7 series is already an expensive car, so the premium to have an Alpina B7 is not big deal. For the 3 series, for the same money of an Alpina D3 you could have a M3. Paying upper 5 figure/low 6 figures (how you option it) for a 3 series that is not a M3 looks terrible on paper.

Yes - also what Alpina does is more in character with the big cars than what M does ( plus of course the B7 is the top dog, since the M7 doesn’t exist).

Probably because aside from those 2, none of them were ever officially imported to North America. I’m willing to bet this one came from Japan.

You are correct - the listing mentions that it came from there.
Oddly I’ve seen a few 3 series Alpinas for sale on BaT or wherever, and they all came from Japan, but they were all LHD , too.

On Goo-Net I see a lot of LHD cars in general. Think in Japan you can have either but primarily they are RHD.

I don’t know, $18.5k USD seems reasonable enough to me

I’d like it better at 14-15k but I’m no expert on these.
