ttyymmnn recently posted a piece about a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! which was tied in part to a crew who repeatedly cheated on their checklists. This is a different, rather dramatic take on that syndrome. (Reposting for the weekday crowd; this really is a fantastic read, relevant far beyond aeronautics).

Great stuff - and I would recommend that to anyone, whether they’re interested in aviation or not.
Because it’s not an article about aviation...

Broader examples of the fringe becoming the norm:
Mainstreaming of pornography into pop culture
Widespread social acceptance of pills/Rx drugs
Underemployment = Employment
Presidential character expectations and norms

Bingo. The cultural/moral relativism today is almost to the point that critiques of objectively bad decisions are met with a backlash. It’s unreal.

That was a really good read, and very scarily describes the organization where I currently work. Both eye opening and a bit frightening.
