I already think about Volvos a lot, these days. I see a couple of V90s, which, like, mansion on wheels.
Some quick sketches.
Nothing’s quite right, but the intent is solid.

Would it be too much to incorporate Thor's hammer from the beltline to the rear of the car? In my head it looks cool, but it could be hokey like the rx8 and the rotary motifs.

Hard to say, from here, right now. In my head Volvo’s light line , bright line, and end make the hammer in side view.
That’d take a fair bit of work. But I’d love to see it.

Of course the V90 is based on the Volvo Concept Estate shooting brake:
Which of course they really should build as a new C30.

More like a C60, I think... but, yeah, I
loved
that one.

I really like where this is headed.

It’s not clean enough.
But I need a lot of practice if I’m gonna compete. I think the next round of sketches are just going to be good ol ballpoint on Strathmore, because that’s kinda home base.
Among other things I gotta do. I guess my hope with these are: “well, you could do a lot worse...”

Love the profile and the character line , but w hat I see is that the taillight treatment is going to be really hard to resolve with the flared fenders in the rear. Maybe d o a more slab-sided, or gently-sloping fenders on the sides? That seems to be more “Volvo” anyway.

I think the taillight stuff is way easier to resolve. The lights can be their own elements on the top surfaces, and and secondary lighting could happen under glass at the back. Biggest issue is getting the profile right from the start.

Well, I’m loving it so far.
