That frankly seems pretty normal? I would expect USPS, UPS, and Fedex to all treat packages like that (though they might have the sense to not do so where people would see it). But those sort of gentle tosses are things I would expect in shipping, and package accordingly, especially for light packages.

Having ran a bulk mail company in my past life , I find it hilarious people are shocked by this. This is basically how all mail is handled at a processing unit.
