The Goldwing lost its left bag sometime during my ride on Sun day, so I went ahead and chopped off the right one! Gotta admit, I like the look better.
I couldn’t find the left bag anywhere on the routes I took yesterday, so I’m not even sure what happened to it.
In other news, I changed the plugs in the 451 and it appears to run without issue now. Whew.

Does that mean someone behind you got a surprise at some point?

I hope not, but retracing my route from earlier in the day revealed nothing, so I have no idea what happened to it.

I hate the way saddle bags look, but dammit if they’re not just the handiest things.

Case in point: The contents of the right saddle bag (left one was empty) had no easy way of getting home last night. lol I ended up stuffing the contents (starting fluid and a few tools) into my pants for the ride home.
In hindsight I could have just waited until I got home to kill off the other bag...but “you have to get the contents of this bag home ” didn’t cross my mind before I destroyed it.

Sometimes you just gotta make it work, any way you can.

Stuffing hard tools into your pants? ....kinky.

Muahahaha! Yes! I also wonder what people were thinking when they saw me at lights with random bulges all over my pant leg.

Miss Mercedes are you happy to see me?
No, that’s just a 7/8" box wrench.

Definitely looks better.

Im in love with that bike, it looks GREAT with no bags imho. I am almost at the point where I can buy a 70s Goldwing and strip it down. I am going to do either what you have (similar anyway) or a rat bike.

Thank you! And after putting a few hundred more miles on there I’ve completely forgotten that I don’t have the bags. The only thing I really need to carry on me is starting fluid (it hates starting in 30 degree weather) and that fits neatly in that little bag on the forks.
The cool thing about the GL1100 and GL1000 is that both came in a standard variant that looks like mine. Sometimes when you see a naked old Wing it’s because it came from the factory that way!

I had bags on me old 454, melted a large DQ Blizzard in there. Havent had any bags since lol. I love the
spokes on the old Goldwings, just something about them. During marching season (up North) the bike groups would all ride to Bettystown on their GW and it was great to watch as a kid. Me mam always said I need to get one too.
