Holy shit, what a bad day. 1 major fire and 1 major crash leaving the driver in very bad shape. We were surprised it wasn’t fatal. First race of the year kinda stuff. Our new Mazda3 GT AWD Pace car and CX-5 Signature Medical Car got their baptism by fire. Dayglow, our ex Indy truck came in handy with it’s 90 gallon foam tank.
Keep the driver who was badly hurt in your thoughts.

Was your ex-Indy truck designed by Lon Bromley? That guy was a legend and a hell of a nice guy.

100%! We bought it from COTA

I'd like to say That's Racing....but it really shouldn't be like that.

Was it one of the old Toyotas? I’m pretty sure all the cool safety truck bits and pieces were moved onto the Nissans

If they’re F-150s, they didn’t come from COTA. Lon built the first set of COTA trucks on Toyota Tundras (because one of the main investors in the track owns a Totota dealership ) and a couple years ago Nissan became a sponsor and all the current trucks are Nissan Titans, with an Armada as the “Head safety guy” vehicle and a GT-R as Safety Car.
