Every time I visit my parents all I think is I feel like traffic has gotten worse since I lived here in 2013. Is it just me of or has it gotten considerably worse?

I feel like it has.

It is worse every month. Doesn’t matter which route I take. Going from downtown to anywhere north or northwest is awful.
Thank you for posting this btw. I forgot that trump will be in Atlanta this week. I'll have to work from home for sure that day

I’m pretty sure pence was in town then, that’s why traffic was so fucked. I’m leaving for home early afternoon tomorrow, hopefully it’s not too bad then.

The economy is pretty good right now , lots of people working, lots of people commuting. When the wheels came off back in 2007 /2008, traffic was great! All the home construction ground to a halt and all the construction t raffic stopped .
It’s good to have low un employment but it has some consequences.

Atlanta is directly between the two halves of my family (Indiana, Florida) which is a chronic annoyance.
I’ve driven up the coast several times to avoid it, and I’ve gone as far west as Mississippi on my way south. I hate passing through Atlanta.
It would not surprise me at all to learn it’s getting worse. Nightmare of a city.

Was this yesterday? Could be rush hour + holiday + less patience for traffic as we get older.

It’s worse I took a pay cut to work from home to avoid it.

That was a couple weeks ago, yesterday wasn’t bad, it just rained really hard. I cut through Gainsville to get from 85 to 400, and it wasn't too bad. They've also made 400 three lane up to GA 369 now.

Sounds like you're winning on that. Although, with as bad as traffic is, we could all do a rush hour oppo meet at the old GA 400 toll plaza.

I honestly find going through Atlanta fun, but my methods may be frowned upon.

Inside the Perimeter isn’t a problem when I’m on 20. It’s the people exiting at 67 (285) that cause all the problems and backup.

Apart from the Grady curve, the worst traffic does seem to be concentrated near the interchanges, still it seems to have gotten generally worse since I started driving back in 2006.

We are driving back in to Atlanta tomorrow , so we’re hoping people traveled today and that tomorrow will be more calm.

I has always been ju st as awful save for a few good periods. Everytime they increase the carrying capacity of the roads, the population rises with it, so it never feels like progress. It's a bad road system that's in too deep to be changed.

It is a lot worse than when I moved back in 2014. I’m ready to move back out west. We’ve done a terrible job with development. The schools of choice are all in northern counties, where it is 90% residential. There are few places to work in those counties that would afford you to buy a house there. Every mo rning there’s a mass exodus to head south.
W e also direct all truck traffic from NY to FL right thru the heart of the city. We’ve developed too mu ch to correct it now. There is no way we could ever afford to buy back the land to add a northern arc, or truck bypass. Then theres the construc tion costs.
