Living in Japan and owning 3 cars... THAT is financially dumb. Worth it... but not smart nonetheless. I wonder how long until my wife starts getting a little mad :D

I’m really glad you didn’t let the RX-7 go. It is very special and I really enjoy seeing it!

Hence why I’m not currently living the dream.

I enjoy myself, a lot... But I’ll be living the dream when I’ll be a classic car test driver for Ferrari, Lambo, Lancia, Alfa and many other AT THE SAME TIME. I basically need to be Jay Leno’s dedicated test driver and have carte blanche to bring all his cars in the canyons anytime... THEN and only then, will I be living the dream haha :)
Yeaaah, that’s not happening...

Oh I can’t afford a Delta Integrale... I’m just a real lucky motherfucker who got it for the price of a good condition 2003 Mazda 626... :D

It’s my favorite of the three, brings a little smile everytime I see it. If I tell your wife I want to buy it, think she’ll make you sell it to me at a steep discount?

Life is too short to live it without a smile on your face. Lots of smiles there.
We have 6 licensed cars right now. It’s ridiculous and a great problem to have. Next week I’m starting work to get the Evo back in regular rotation.

No but I could introduce you to her, you’d tell her you really want it and need time to get the money for it but never come up with it?? Then I blame you for still having the car? I’ll need something like that at one point really...

I’d be happy to indefinitely store the RX-7 for you. I will even pay for gas to drive it from Tacoma to my garage in Montana.

DID. I. STUTTER?!
FTO. COTY. MANUAL.
GIB. NAO.
They only “suck” in the hands of people who can’t fucking drive. The vital statistics tell the real story.
2.0L V6, 197HP, 150ft/lbs - 99HP/litre
5 speed manual with LSD and equal-length half-shafts
Extremely good unibody design with minimal flex and multi-link rear
Quick ratio steering rack (2.5 lock to lock)
2500-2700lbs curb weight
Anybody who says these are slow around a track, can’t fucking drive around a track. The FTO has a marginally better suspension and chassis, slightly less weight, and significantly more power than a DC2 Integra GS-R. (Thank you, lack of crash standards!) Throw a few bones at the suspension, and you’re well into Type R lap times.
Complete fucking nightmare to work on though.

You are more than welcome to ship me that Delta then. If your wife doesn’t see it it is like you don’t own it and then you’ll have a car in California to drive when you visit.

Any chance we can get a price breakdown?
Japan has yearly taxes (based on engine size or car age?) p lus expensive bi annual inspections. How much is insurance?
For reference Florida has no inspections, my taxes are $86 a year for 2 cars and insurance comes out to $1400 a year.

Well, I got it recertified for road use, but ended up with a check engine light and the clutch is slipping under mid to high load. It has over 150k miles on the original clutch, so I don’t blame it. I’ve done a lot of work on the car myself, but taking apart the drivetrain is a step to far for me right now. Finding places that are competent to work on Evos around Atlanta is tough, but I think I found one and I am going to have them do the clutch and timing belt next week. I’ve also picked up a replacement intercooler as the original was bent in the accident. It will get back into normal use soon.

Also, one of my friends at work is thinking hard about getting a Mini. If he decides to go for it I will pass along your info.
