Because I’m lazy and don’t really have the option to tackle a project right now, when I browse Craigslist my eyes are always drawn to the already-restored beauties for sale, not the junkers in need of too much TLC than I have to offer.
I’m fairly confident this is the priciest car I’ve ever seen on CL in my area.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I have nothing useful to say about it other than I would, of course, love to own it.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Other too-rich-for-my-blood attractive options tonight include a pickup much more expensive than the
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
A Ford Galaxie that costs twice as much as I’ve ever spent on a vehicle.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And a w oody w agon that costs over twice what the Ford is asking.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And as a bonus, a wagon that never was, but could be yours for only $30k.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
(I sent that last one to Rob @ FP for consideration for NPoCP, but given that my track record is a perfect 0-fer, I don’t imagine it’ll show up.)

I think the GTO wagon was on Barn Finds or something, I’ve seen it before.
Interesting build but WTF on the 2.56 open diff?

So yeah, this is on my CL:
1952 Chevy Pick Up 3100 $39975(salem)
A tad bit more than $800... Also more than $25k, that chrome grill must be worth a lot.

Lots of nice machines on Boston CL. This is the most expensive (though it’s not actually in the area) :
1955 Porsche Speedster 1600 Super $234500 (Boulder)
Similarly, this guy is 2000 miles away
1965 Ford GT-40 Replica by GTD - Factory Built in England $129000
Most expensive in Boston is this:
1963 Porsche 356B Cabriolet $140000 (Boston)
We also have a Cobra:
1965 Shelby Cobra - 1 owner $60000 (Boston)

I suspect with Craigslist now charging a fee, we’ll see far fewer beaters and more high priced cars there (or at least they’ll be more apparent).

$60k cookie-cutter Bel-Air. Definitely not special. Definitely not highly desirable. Definitely smoking serious crack.
https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/d/painesville-2012-aston-martin-v12/6855514625.html
Yes that is an Aston Martin Vantage V12 Carbon Black with shitty aftermarket wheels at $125k.
https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/d/uniontown-porsche-930-turbo/6860268276.html
“No motor.” “Have number matching block” these two things do not go together.

Aaaaaand our victor. Which speaks entirely for itself.

For $375k it had better be steam-powered.

It is not. It is an internal combustion, straight 6, with side valves, non-removable non-repairable cylinder heads, displacing 525 cubic inches. When new it cost $10,000+.

Ah ok. We can never have too much fast wagon content though.
And the Cobra makes me feel kinda funny

I think the factory five cobras are just as nice as the kirkhams and you can build a super nice one for 50k.

The Kirkham cars are aluminum I think, they are not cheap.

A very fake Cobra with awful wheels!

I think $5 month is not going to change much in terms of legitimate ads. It may discourage spam though.

It’s the friction. $5 isn’t much for most, but paying anything involves giving your credit card to yet another website, who may or may not lose it.
Facebook Marketplace is easy and free. It’s the one thing I miss after ditching FB, and I worry this change is going to make it harder for me to find the vehicles I’m interested in.

Love the Cobra but that and a 550 Spyder are cars I'd honestly rather have a replica of, I'd be too stressed to drive them ever.

Is there a market for the Locomobile restoration at $375k?

525 CID?
The first big block...
