Very cool.

I hate my job and (almost) everyone I work with is an idiot, and the prime thing that we do (make software) we do really badly by any measure.

But it’s made me hyper-aware lately of when somebody does something well. Even (or especially) something trivial or seemingly pointless.

From 12 January through 4 April, I worked my way through 13 boxes, for a total of 468 packs, at the approximate rate of six packs per day. This was enough to feel like I was making progress each day, but not enough to become annoying or risk clerical errors 

Before he even gets to the heavy maths, this guy knows what he’s doing. He might be doing something totally worthless, but he’s doing it WELL. He’s got a strategy to do it reliably and minimize errors.
