Took the GTI for a desert weekend... rallied over the Colorado passes down to Indian Creek , then did several miles of 4x4 roads including crossing one creek that was flowing good... just to get to the perfect campsite.

Best. Car. Ever.

I’m sure it is.

We were on the lockhart basin road and the creek after the campsites was running nicely there... (and it’s usually dry even when indian creek is running)...

This is one of my absolute favorite things to do in a car. Travel far down trails and roads that aren’t meant for ease of travel.

It’s fantastic!

Yeah- just looked on a map and didn’t realize that stream after the lockhart camping zone was indian creek too... lol

Which is interesting.. cuz I’ve def seen the beef basin crossing full of water, yet the lockhart basin crossing dry... damn cows, I suppose.....

But yeah, we went a few miles past the lockhart basin creek crossing to set up camp... so AMAZING canyons in that zone.....

No doubt. Just a little bit of competence can get you pretty far... (that and the gti actually has pretty decent clearance )
