Taken from a multi story I parked on for Jury Duty last week. I imagine they’re kept in a cage to prevent vandalism/theft during long term parking.

Yes, that is my dual sport right next to the cage. Very happy to confirm that the parking deck entry gate (eventually) detected my motorcycle and lifted so I could enter.

Did you get selected to be on a case?

I got called in October of 2017 and got picked. Spent a week in court. It was actually a nice break from my job.

They’re caged to protect the rest of the garage, else they’d be crawling over the cars when no one is watching.

No, but I dodged an eye bleach bullet because the trial was for 130+ counts of possession/distribution of child pornography, and it was clearly explained by the prosecutor that as part of the jury we would be required to look at every single video and photo as evidence.

Not my idea of a good time. S omeone in the jury pool thre w up right in the court room during voir dire.

For once I’m actually hoping one has an angry Jeep grille...

“Despite all my rage I’m still just a Joop in a cage”

I just got my first jury summons in 15 years. Was yours for Lehigh county?

We had a cage for our cars when I was in the Army. I parked my 4Runner near the front of the gate when I was pending leaving. I was one of the first go to, so I wanted to be able to get out quickly once they realized they didn’t have enough space.
Well, fast forward about 7 months...a sinkhole opened up at this gated area and ate half the cars. My 4Runner was perfectly safe!

Yeah that’s horrid.

Mine was an armed robbery/aggravated assault . I think it tells you how much I hated my job that I would rather be sitting in court.

Yeah, you will end up parking in this same deck! The cage is on fourth floor.

perhaps the cage was not meant for the jeeps to be safe, but to keep everyone outside safe from the jeeps?

“Can you be an impartial blah blah.”

Me in that situation: Buddy, if you did not have armed officers five feet away from me, I would kill the so-called defendant myself.

wow, I never thought about how the jury would have to view all that stuff. That’s a lot to take on for a few bucks a day to sit on jury duty. Crazy the defendant didn’t plea that one out. I can’t imagine they’d have any hope of winning that case.

Had I been on the jury, the case would have been contingent upon them proving that he was the one using the computer that they claimed to have found the stuff on, not the existence of the evidence itself.

Sure I get that, but showing a bunch of child porn to a jury is probably going to make them want to convict them, even if the evidence was a little ske tchy.

Absolutely. I feel like I was one of maybe two people out of the pool of 60 who were willing to give the defendant some assumption of innocence. Just because the prosecutor says you did something, doesn't make it true.
