I saw an older guy in an AMG
SLC43, but the badge was changed to SLC 330. It was definitely an AMG, because it was matte gray with red accents. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone make up a fake
model number before
, with the exception of some people in old BMWs just playing around.
I kind of like the idea. It’s more sleeper-y/less showy like debadging— but without making you look like you’re one of those people who debadged so people wouldn’t know you bought the cheap model—while still suggesting that it isn’t the base model.

Maybe he was just being self-deprecating, since the 43 isn’t a real AMG?
[ducks]

I was actually going to add something about how Mercedes is now just replacing top-tier Benzes with lower-tier AMGs, making it mean almost nothing.

I actually thought about badging my 328i to a 320is. I mean it fits... it has the higher output version of the same 2.0L turbo from the 320i. And 20 is the actual displacement.
Oh... and adding an sDrive badge to where the xDrive badge usually is, I’m probably the only one in the area with a RWD F30, so I’ll blend in that way lol.
