Is Disney actually dumb enough to reveal Rey as a Skywalker in the title of Episode IX? Yes, this is the official title revealed today.

nah. I’d wager it means growth of Luke’s influence on the Force (and use there of ) according to his mindset at the end.  e.g. no more restricting it to the elitist Jedi, who- when you think about it- caused all of the problems in the galaxy prior to these films.  Yes, yes, they preached peace, calm, blah blah, yet regularly spawned Hitlers far too often.

The end of The Last Jedi implied that Luke dies and becomes part of the force but then again the trailer seems rather focused on retconning almost everything about TLJ.

I’m guessing Rey turns Ren back to the light. And he is Anakin Skywalker’s (only?) grandchild . But I guess we’ll see.

Maybe it’s a misdirect. I don’t know what’s really going on with the end of the teaser trailer, but how’s this for a plot twist:

Palpatine was Anakin’s father ... somehow. Secretly a Skywalker, just like Leia “Organa” was. Therefore the title is a reference to him and his “rise” in the new movie (as a Dark Side Force gh ost?)

Eh... then again, the Skywalker name came from Shmi. So no, that can’t be Palpat ine’s name, can it . Oh well. I dunno then .
