The original Jeepster was the anti-Jeep in a lot of ways. It was quite a contrast with the highly utilitarian CJs, Jeep Trucks, and Willys Wagons of the day. Jeep presumably had a much smaller rabid fan base at the time, but I’d wager it was not well-received by that crowd.
Of course, it is also among the most beautiful Jeeps ever designed, by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , whose work helped keep Jeep relevant beyond the farmers and returning servicemen who Willys hoped would buy CJs.
Anyway, there’s a terribly affordable one near here, but more of a project than I can take on. Hopefully it finds a good home, and with luck I’ll see it at a future !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

As a Jeep and Studebaker fan, I love me some Brooks Stevens.

I think if I bought it and slabbed it out I’d be the most hated man in the Jeep world.
