See if you can spot the moment my older brother was born. I don’t think I ever want kids.
Where known, the original color is used.
*that I know of.

Bel Air s . If I recall correctly, two 55s, one 56, and two 58s.
Knowing she had an E-Type came very late. I showed her a picture of one a few years ago and the conversation went like this:
“Oh. Is that a Jaguar? I had one of those around 1964. It was green, though.”
“You had a British Racing Green Series 1 E-Type?”
“It was green. I didn’t have it long. I was racing someone and crashed through a fence and hit a tree . The car was totaled.”

There’s supposed to be a 1968 Camaro after the Corvette, but the photo keeps disappearing.

The Honda is the car I learned to drive stick on. I stole it once to go on a date. That was in the winter and it had a heater that only worked if you got into the passenger side and kicked the glove compartment really hard. It was an awkward date.

Sweet collection, I’d love any one of those.
My mom had some 60s Camaros, a 70s Celica, 60s and 70s Mustangs...all the cool cars. Then I was born and came home in an ‘84 Tempo.
..and then there was a string of early 90s Hyundais.
...and then late 90s and early 00s Fords.

True. Although, when it comes down to it, I’m not sure how to deal with the knowledge that my mom has crashed cooker cars than I’ll ever own.

Oh man... I’m gonna try to do a timeline of stuff my parents owned. My dad, being dirt poor, ran a string of beaters through college, each less than a year, which, to my recollection, went Gremlin, Bonneville (which he sold to an honest-to-god pimp, who painted it neon green with zebra print seats and dubs), and Maverick. Then he met my mom and got married. She had a full size Chevy van, some cars she doesn’t remember, then a Geo Metro hatch during law school, which she had when she met my dad and drove to the hospital to birth me... notice that my dad didn’t drive.
Then the Maverick went and was replaced by a LeSabre, the Geo with a T&C (we were 3 kids deep at this point). Then the LeSabre, on its third engine died and was replaced by a brand new 04 Accord, the T&C with an E150 (5 kids now!), then my dad bought a Cavalier, then swapped for a Prius, then a Ranger, then the Elantra the kids learned to drive on, my mom went for a Kia Optima, then a Subaru Legacy, then they picked up a Focus, then my parents divorced, mom sold the Legacy and bought a 335i xDrive, my dad moved up to a Jetta, my mom bought a CR-V as a second car, then the Elantra got totaled, to be replaced with an Elantra GT.
When still together, the most cars we had at once was the E150 (which my dad owns to this day), Focus, Elantra (not the GT), Jetta, my brother’s MkIV Golf, and my mom’s Legacy. Six cars, 5 drivers. All but the van seeing daily duty, my older
brother to a local college, younger brother to high school, mom and dad with their own cars, and me with the Elantra away at school. The driveway was always full when I was home.

The only thing I know about our Gremlin was that my mom left my brother in it while it was running and it caught fire. Apparently someone smashed a window a pulled him out.
Also that it was chartreuse. “Chartreuse is an awful color , that was the color of the car that your brother almost died in.”

My mom got a ‘65 Olds vert for med school graduation. After that, it was station wagon, Vega, Chevette.
Time to replace and upgrade the Chevette. Four kids in the home. She’s talking about getting a Cutlass Ciera. That sounded in character for her.
Then she comes home in a red FC RX-7. I was 17. I lost my mind. I also got to drive it to prom.
Later, she got a red Celica vert, after passing the Mazda down to my sister.
Kids did not stop her. They just caused her to defer a little while.
Your mom’s collection is truly outstanding, however. I am in awe.

Jeez. My dad’s only stories about his Gremlin had to do with the facts that it was a piece of shit. My favorites were about how the floor was a piece of plywood he bought at the hardware store and that there was a big rust spot on the rear quarter that he thought was just rust bubble, but when he went to fix it, was actually duct tape and rattle can over some hardcore rust.
