Some days ago, Pip showed us this...
Its the Great Wall Steed in concept Adventure form...
Now there’s this...
It’s the concept interior of the same vehicle...but the Urban version.
I am so very confused...

Sounds like a vehicle for American republicans. An urban pickup made by a company called Great Wall.
Now just have it built in Mexico and it’s a done deal.

If they built it in Tibet or Xinjiang then the irony levels would also be maxed out.
Truth be told...Great Wall is just a daft marketing brand that will be killed off before any attempt at world domination. It's why they have created Haval...

Ye’, but when I read Haval, I hear hovel. ‘my car is a hovel!’.
Not great.

Imagine hearing General Motors for the first time. Or Datsun. Or even Hyundai. Saab. Skoda. Holden.
In the end...they are just names. Very regionally specific names in some cases but many of them have gone on to be brands of some significance.

My conspiracy theory is that they called the brand Haval because if you squint it sort of looks like this:

Great Wall does like to rip off Toyota, as evidenced by the blatant 2nd generation Tundra grille on this concept truck. And the Voleex C10 that's little more than a copy-paste Yaris.

It looks like they slapped on a Toyota Tundra’s grille onto a Chevy Colorado. Interesting.

Hasn’t China started to play ball with automotive copyright infringement lately in an attempt to become an international player? Just let them make their langrovers and mercedlees as long as they stay in China . We don’t need to pump their economy up any more than we already do

If you don’t want to buy them then they won’t try to sell them to you. But if you dream of a ute that only costs you US$20,000 and your countries politics allow it then they will happily take your money...
