The dogs met the new Rumba. They’re not sure about it. The head of household security kept trying to corner it.

Also, have a preview of my living room project. Basically baseboards left to do and then put the room back together. There is currently furniture everywhere in the house except the living room.

Thanks.

She tried to pin it with her paw, but we made Ellie leave it. When she figures out she can bump it and make it change directions, it may never clean more than a single corner ever again.

We dig the color, Benjamin Moore beach glass. It’s a grayish, greenish, bluish color that is warm enough to work with the pink marble around the fireplace and the pink tile at the entry points that I’m not replacing. It’s also a bit more interesting than the light gray wall color that seems to have become the beige of 2019.

A cat would be sitting on it getting rides! :p

One of parents’ dogs liked to bit the fan grill off the back of them (not sure the newer models have it there). Otherwise my dogs have tended to just steer clear of mine. My foster would sometimes run around grabbing all her toys and relocating them to keep Roomba from getting them.

A friend of mine had his cat somehow change the language to French by walking on one of his. Fortunately he’s a Swiss dual-national so he could handle it.

We'll definitely have to watch Ellie around it.  She may or may not try to assert dominance over it.  She may also figure out she can bump it and make it change directions.  If that happens, it will never leave a corner again.

I really like the pink marble, but I would guess it was a challenge to find a paint color that worked with it. I had thought of using a similar pink granite i n my entrance area, but will probably go with something more neutral. I did kind of a dark teal on the walls.

It was. It took us a couple of months to come up with a color scheme, and the pink automatically limits you to pretty warm huges. T he house is a built in 1990 thing where the original color scheme was white and pink. I’ve taken most of the pink of the interior, but the tile and marble were always going to stay.

We've used this grayish/greenish/blueish beach glass color and the main wall color in the living/dining room, hallway and one bathroom, with an off-white creamish color for the trim and ceilings throughout the house.  One bedroom was done in a similar but a bit brighter teal color, and the other two bedrooms are a matching light blue wall color.  This and replacing all carpeting with the wood laminate has been my hobby for much of the last year.

My place was built in 1983 and was pretty much untouched by the previous owners. Its got the cathedral ceilings and odd geometric angles that were sort of in at the time, and I had considered just embracing it and doing a whole  retro ‘80s thing. Vertical blinds, track lighting, etc. But, I’ve toned that idea down quite a bit.

This is very similar. Tons of  angles and vaulted ceilings. Vertical blinds, too. My posts under the houselopnik tag have detail my last year spent updating the 1990 out of the house.

Yeah, you can take it too far. There’s a certain age where its too new to be cool and too old to be in, and the ‘80s/90s are definitely in that range now. In my case, it was an elderly couple who had the house, so what they did in 1983 would not have been considered cutting edge style in 1983, either . A lot of flowers, lace curtains, and Amish themed decorations.

We are a fan of dual wall colors and chair rails in our house. Maybe I’ll post sometime.

That roomba is about to become a dog toy. :)

Again, that sounds so familiar. Frilly window treatment details, and flower wall paper/borders in bathrooms. The 2nd o wner had done some zany (and badly done) painting in a couple of bedrooms, but otherwise it kept getting in repainted with white walls and nothing really changed all that much.

I only did that in the dining area where the chair rail was already there (and the wall texture is also different on the lower part). I do like it . In a house with a different architecture I would certainly do more of it.

The dining room is where we did ours. We later put in a chair rail and two colors in my daughter’s room because we liked the look so much.

That’s a better picture of the room that captured the color more accurately . For some reason my phone made the wall color look more bold than it actually is in the pictures I took yesterday.
