I’ve been going back and forth on whether I should swap out the springs and ball joints on the Camaro or let a shop do it. I’ve decided that since I’ve done everything else on this car I might as well do this too. I know this isn’t earth shattering news for anyone but me but now that it’s written down I’ll actually stick with the decision instead of waffling some more about it. Oh, and here’s a damn good song because I like Wilson Pickett, I like Duane Allman and I like The Beatles so why not?

Thats the spirit! You’ll take extra satisfaction knowing it was done by you and it was done right.

I’ll absolutely take satisfaction in it, whether it is done right might be a different question.

Step 1: Do it.
Step 2: Make an alignment shop finish it.
Step 3: Enjoy your reward for a job well done.
(In all seriousness - as long as you do not skip step 2? It’s done right. Unless you have a Hunter rack in your garage.)

I don’t, unless it’s behind a box or something. Seriously, the plan is to get it done, make sure the toe is in the ballpark and then take it to an alignment shop.

Well at least you’ll be intimately familiar so it’ll be easier the second time!

I just replaced lower control arms on my 17 year old!! Lexus IS and put expensive new tires on it. I plan to get an alignment, same note to self to be sure to do it soon.
And yes, do it yourself as a no as you have spring compessors or a safe way to relieve the load on the springs.
