This afternoon I got a scammer from a company called Webshop Producers calling me at work. Claiming that we owe them $599 for services that they provided us. I replied that we have never done business with them, etc. but they continued pushing the issue until I hung up on them. She called back about 12 seconds later asking why I hung up on her. I replied “because your’e a scammer” and hung up again. About 30 seconds later I received an invoice via fax machine. For search engine optimization. Our website is a one page landing page with our name address and phone number on it, and the only reason we have it is so that we own our domain name. When I google us it doesn’t even show up on the first page of results. Why would we pay for SEO when we don’t even have a useful website?
The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! are pretty entertaining though.

If safe search is set to moderate, why then give me the actual scam sute as a first hit without warning DDG? Seems, unsafe.

Even Google and Microsoft have been victims to this kind of scam. Some guy is in prison for scamming like $50 million out of fake customers.

I’ve gotten some robo-voice calls lately telling me They haven’t had a response from me and that I’ve knowingly committed fraud somehow and that now there’s a lawsuit against from “the government”. Googling the number they called from took me to some website that sells t-shirts with stupid baby-b oomer jokes on them. Seems legit.

Somebody tried the same thing with me a few months. said I took out a loan that I never took out and that if I paid today they would only charge 300$ instead of 1500$
or something stupid.

Tell them that they need to get in touch with your lawyer, and give them the email to a Nigerian scammer.

I like this idea. But instead I’ll just ignore them until they go away.

Maybe I’ll try to get them to mail me copies of the invoice, nonexistent PO and nonexistent signed contract. If they’re dumb enough to send me anything via USPS it’s federal prison for mail fraud.

I’m gonna invoice them.

No fax number listed here or on their website. It came in to my fax machine with a private number and there isn’t a fax number in those logs either.

Oooh. There’s enough there to cause them some real migraines.
ProTip: running a scam with a UPS m ail drop is not a good idea.
