That’s an interesting pattern on the floor there.
I like it.
Some do smooth, while other have ever so slightly raise lines for grip (which only works one way, doh).

Never thought about that; I do know that rain grooves in Hong Kong are perpendicular to the flow of traffic, which might (in my layman’s assessment) provide better wet stopping friction but is terribly noisy.
Rain grooves on American highways are generally carved in the direction of traffic which is quieter.
Not sure why rain grooves matter in a parking garage, but I guess all directions are taken care of!

Ye’, probably better grip as the car park there is sloped.
Very few roads in the U.K. are concrete. The vast majority are asphalt with maybe old residential areas using concrete as it was laid down in the 1950-60s. And we've still got cobbled roads (one is at the end of my street) which go back centuries though most setts are the modern Belgian Block style which I think only came about in the last couple of hundred years.
