String of shootings ends (so far) about 500’ from my house. Update : teenage kid fatally shot while walking down the street in broad daylight . A friend of mine was supposed to be out in my yard doing some cleanup for me when it happened.

I have no airbags, that’s much more likely to kill me than this.
On the other hand, further proof I need to find a new place to live, if I wouldn’t take an absolute bath on this house.

Indianapolis sounds like a nice place.

It is! Just not when people are dying around me, which hasn’t happened a lot but two fatalities within sight line of my property (hit and run, this shooting) in a few years does not make for a happy story.

I live on a great street, but have had a few fatal shooting within a mile or so of me over the last couple of years. Most of them were police shooting or domestic violence situations. No real gang activity (I live in a working class area where everyone actually works). However, I live in the wild west and my city has a population double that of Indianapolis. No description of the vehicle whatsoever and a surviving witness seems a bit odd.

Is this typical for Indy? My older brother and his wife left Indianapolis for Nashville a couple years ago, but they’re thinking of moving back at some point.

Not at all. Just don’t buy a home on the east side and you’ll likely never see anything like this.
