A wild Peugeot 508 appeared...in Atlanta.
Gotta say, I like the way it looks.
Also, I met Ed Bolian.

How is he in person? Also, no face reveal? Also how is that Peugot legal?

What was it doing there?

He’s great! Such a nice guy, so open to questions and compliments about the LP640.
If this post gets 10k views, I’ll post the unedited version.
Also, I believe Atlanta is where PSA is setting up their American HQ. The guy driving it was very French.

Manf or diplomatic plates?

I heard a rumor that PSA’s USA HQ for when they return to the market will be in Atlanta.

Nah that’s his actual face.

Yay for sedans! I think that looks pretty good, actually. I bet Ed was fun to speak with!

At this angle the front looks like it could be stolen by Chevy to craft on the Malibu, and they’ll call it “Camaro-inspired”.

Factory work in Georgia... I hope they have good A/C. When employees start dropping from the heat and humidity, product quality sometimes takes a back seat.

Cool. Maybe a 5008 would be more apt for the U.S. though.

It’s a little on the small side but I think that it would still sell if they could do marketing right.

I think the 5008 is the largest they do.

Google puts it at about the same size as the Stelvio, Jeep Cherokee, and other small/midsize crossovers. I think they’re going to have a hard sell convincing people to take one over an established brand though.

Maybe. But maybe the European-ness may be enough. It worked for Haagen Dazs.

I don’t think it’s worked for Alfa. Rough numbers put it at half of what the Macan sold.

I think Alfa is one of those that doesn’t really work anywhere outside of Italy.
Here in the U.K. it’s easy to forget they exist and they are on our roads, yet in the states I think they had a brief hiatus and the name of unreliability stood around. Skoda still suffers it’s old bad name here in the U.K. and they’ve been owned by VW for over 25 years.
There Peugeot would for a while at least be a new novelty and needs to use that time wisely to establish themselves.

They’d need something quite a bit bigger than that though.

Ye’, it’s what Daily Drives a Dragon said.
Peugeot don’t make anything larger unle ss you go for a van, or van derived MPV.
