Has anyone else started watching this? Content aside (in brief: I enjoy it, but can see how others would not), I can of get over how clean the computer animation is. Like, we have crossed the Uncanny Valley. Amazing stuff.

I watched that first one, from the header image. Yeah, the animation is crazy.

I remember quite clearly back when Final Fantasy The Spirits Within was lauded for having groundbreaking animation.

I liked a lot of them, but some of them were gratuitous and had a message that was very on the nose. The animation style varies wildly but I almost always found it top notch quality. T he good ones leave you wanting more, and the bad ones aren’t wasting your time since they’ re all about 10 minutes long. I recall the first and last being my favorites. H ave you seen spiderverse yet?

That comparison came immediately to mind when watching the first episode as well. We've come a looooooong way, it seems.

No, though I hear great things about it. But what’s keeping me from going to see it is the same thing in the episode called Suits (about the alien -hunting farmers) - skipped animation frames. It takes something that is otherwise enjoyable and just ruins it for me. Knights of Sidonia did the same thing , and i see it in a lot of cg lately. I understand they're cutting render time by skipping frames, but it just looks so trashy.

I liked the robot tourism episode a lot. Wasn’t terribly “deep”, but it was clever.

Started it yesterday, I’ve seen through Lucky 13 so far. 100% on the animation, some of them are unbelievably realistic, Beyond the Aquila Rift and Lucky 13 in particular. Favorites so far are Sonnie’s Edge, Three Robots, and Good Hunting. If they expanded Good Hunting I would be all for it.

Also I like that cats are both our salvation from Dracula and the end of our species.

I liked most of them, feels like an animated Black Mirror.

Good Hunting should really be it’s own series, even if only a short one.

ZA much as I cringe at displays of brutality like towards the end of Sonnie’s Edge , I've gotta say I think that is my favorite so far. There isn't one I haven't liked, tho.

It was an interesting anthology, but I was a bit confused how it all went together. I kept looking for how they tied together for a good amount of them, and then I eventually gave up. Some were really good I thought. Others just sucked.

There was some minor controversy that I read about regarding how people see them in a different order, and theories regarding Netflix algorithms (something about sexism & gender I think.)

I read about that. Seems like harmless a/b testing to me. Ruins the idea that the episodes of the anthology fit together into anything, though.

Dude Aquila Rift was amazing! Loved the story of Good Hunting, and Three Robots is my hands-down favorite.
