I couldn’t figure out who would buy an F-650 for joyrides until I got to “Formerly owned by NFL star LaRon Landry; the truck still has his custom Dirty 30 stitching in the headrest.”
Now it makes sense.

I saw this one at a dealer and was shocked it was gas and not diesel.

“I'm considering selling" might be code for "I'm starting to realize that there's no point to owning a $60,000 truck when I don't do truck stuff and I live in Philipsburg NJ."

I love how large the truck is and how tiny the back seat is. $60k for a truck that can't do truck things? CP

I mean, the V10 will almost certainly have lower purchase and maintenance costs, and if it’s only driven occasionally...
(IIRC a lot of why the V10 exists is because of fleets not wanting the headaches of a diesel, especially if they’re in more of a stop/start duty cycle (think delivery trucks and the like).)

I’d give them points for the Cat motor, but then have to deduct them back for knobby traction tires on the steer axle.

Well that does make sense.

Seeing the gas motor on a chassis that wasn't a former u-haul truck is a bit surprising.

crack pipe. Worth maybe half his ask. Last year there was a regular cab equivalent going for $20k in the same region.

The reason anyone would do this if they could — which they can’t — would be because they could — which they can’t.

Sure, but was it formerly owned by a very rich athlete? That adds a lot of value!

I think the fact that this truck was owned by someone with tens of millions of dollars explains a lot.

Well, it still doesn’t explain why he spent some of it on this, vs. any other vehicle you could buy with tens of millions of dollars.

These are work trucks. Not supposed to have a back seat. Supposed to have a short cab and a rollback or a box. They’ll still t ow like absolute crazy in this trim though.
The F650 has a maximum GVWR of 29,000lbs and with the Cat C7, a GCWR north of 55,000lbs. It can literally pull a 53' car hauler comfortably. Despite weighing 15,000lbs+.

A normal f650 is all of those things you mentioned, this isn't one though. This was somebody's toy and I'd be shocked if it towed anything in its life.

Evidently it’s a thing with NFL-ers . My son went to school with an ex-NFL players kids and he’d park the monster F-650 in the student lot and “beep” the LOCOMOTIVE HORN to let them know he was there to pick them up after practice. Definitely gets your attention. Also it’s hard to tell from the pics above, but the whole body sits above the double height frame rails, so this beast is as tall as a Freight liner .
And a quick internet search brought up this NFL guy:
and this NFL guy:
I dunno. Big guys like big toys?
