I thought Miata beaters are what Opponauts with $500 are constantly browsing Cragslist for?

I test drove the hard top. the visibility was pretty bad and the rear hatch was laughable but I kinda wish I'd gotten a GXP just for the sheer oddness of it

You could have sold coupe for tidy profit in hindsight. What they sell for now is not bad.

Hindsight, GM was beginning its fetish with sports cars having shotty visibility. The current Camaro takes a lot from the old Kappa cars

Fun fact, I actually liked the solstice more than the NC. Yeah, it was typical GM inside, and the trunk was horrible, and it was probably heavier, but idk, it just felt more solid and a little bit more special to drive. I kind of liked the high belt line and poor visibility. It made it feel like you were sitting in the car, not on the car, better than a lot of other vehicles I've driven.

GXP Coupe is probably the best oddity there is from the 2000's GM. The G8 GXP was a better car, but hey, we’re enthusiasts - better shouldn’t be objective.

The design of the convertible top was just wrong

It really was. GM has a habit of coming so close, but so far, to making a good vehicle haha

Full disclosure, my mom had a solstice she bought used after I went to college. I took it on a few trips and absolutely loved that car. She totaled it in the rain due to those shitty goodyear eagle tires and her lack of skill.

Ouch.  At least she's OK. And tbf, I don't believe the standard Solstice had LSD.

I was able to always get it really sideways in the wet so I assumed it did. I’ve done zero research into the matter though haha
