You know how sometimes, when you’re driving, shuffle will bring up exactly the right song so you turn it up obnoxiously loud?
Yeah.

I have noticed that at the same time I also seem to downshift and bury the throttle.
Also, im a millennial and I damn love Maiden. Good music is good.

The other day my coworker, who knows I’m a big metal head, announced that he saw a flyer for Maiden’s upcoming tour, and another guy made some comment like “Hows that work? Is the stage wheelchair accessible?” and I was like “F*** YOU! IRON MAIDEN RULES” and then told them about how much ass they kicked when I saw them live in 2017 with Ghost.
So yesterday someone made a comment about something or other, and first coworker goes “Turn it up to 11!” and coworker I berated laughs and goes “Yeah, like Snuze does for Iron Maiden!”

I saw Maiden live in 2017 and The Trooper is probably my favorite concert memory. The audience was drowning out the band singing along, even in an outdoor venue.

These old guy bands still put a lot of newer acts to shame when it comes to doing it live. Mostly because I think they came up in an age where you couldn’t filter or cover up mistakes in production like you can these days. And decades of touring too, I suppose. Best two “old guy” bands touring today are Maiden and Judas Priest, both absolutely killing it. Notably, Saxon opened for Priest last year and they were INCREDIBLE...

If I remember right, this came out in 1983 which was my senior year of high school so the lyrics are seared in to my memory.
