Had to borrow a Dremel from a co-worker but finally installed the Momo wheel that’s been sitting in my garage for a month .

I like it because my name is Mo and my wheel is Momo

That is unsafe. Where is your airbag? Have you not seen Red Asphalt? Blood on the Highway? Personally they are two of my favorites. Nice anyway!

Did this car originally have an airbag? If so I might have waited until after the inspection (I see your registration is due) just in case some shop decided to be a pain about it (don’t even know if airbags are covered by Texas’ weak safety inspections).

Its a track car that almost never sees the street. Have a roll bar with Sparco Sprint seats and 6 point harnesses.

According to the shop down the street from my house, as long as the light isn’t flashing, it’ll pass inspection. I have a 3 ohm resistor that I will put in to trick the airbag computer into thinking its still there.

Either way, the only time this car is on the street is to drive to/from the track. As soon as I get an SUV it’ll be trailered.

Tape  a balloon in the center of the wheel. Life, HACKED!

The airbag light on my Miata has been blinking literally for years. Still passed NC and PA state safety inspections.

Looks great! I had a Momo on my Miata and really liked how it felt. Enjoy!

Yeah, looks like neither is supposed to check air bags (I wish states made it easier to find lists of exactly what they are checking). It looks like PA checks airbags in the inspection for a car that’s been totaled and is trying to get a new title, but for standard inspections doesn’t have any air bag checks.

I am currently at the point of strongly leaning towards selling my Miata, and I'm trying to figure out how much the blinking airbag light will affect the price.

I’d imagine not much, especially if you have (or put on) a wheel without an airbag. Presumably most people buying NAs these days are looking for a fun toy, quite possibly for the track, rather than a daily driver, so would be willing to compromise a bit on safety.

It still has the stock wheel but maybe I should look at other options. I’m trying to not put any more money into it. I did just put new tires on it since the old ones were balding and one wouldn’t hold air.

I still love it, but I'm having a hard time justifying the expenses of 2 cars and could use Miata money to pay off some debt.

That wheel’s diameter looks like it’s larger than the stock wheel. Is it actually? How does it feel when driving? I swapped to a slightly smaller Nardi wheel in my 323 GTX and it made a huge difference in how it felt to drive.

its ~1 inch smaller than the stock wheel. The photo angle makes it look larger. I only drove it around my block after I installed it to make sure everything was straight. Next time the car will be out is at Track Night on Tuesday.

Im thinking about this setup. How's it work for you? What roll bar? What seat mount? How much lower do you sit?

Pull the cluster and remove the bulb. Super simple. While you're at it, get rid of the open door chime (if you haven't already)

The door chime was killed a while ago. That thing was so annoying. It’s not like it’s a minivan and I can’t tell that a rear door is open. If the door in the Miata isn’t closed, I’m aware.

I honestly stopped even noticing the blinking light a long time ago. It used to bother me but now I forget. It's only an issue if I'm selling the car.

I have the Sparco Sprint seats with the Hard Dog M1 roll bar. It has an integrated harness bar.

I’m using the Sparco bases and side mount brackets on both sides, sit ~1 inch lower than the OEM seats. For driving around its great, I haven’t taken it to the track since the seat install though. I’ll be at MSR for 3 days next week.

Ah, I thought it might have just been a matter of perspective. Enjoy it!

I like it because my name is Mo and my wheel is Momo

That is a very good reason.
