There will always be a special place in my heart for the CRJ. My first jet, my first 121 captain upgrade, and just a damn good feeling plane on the controls. I miss the plane, just not the paycheck and lifestyle.  The guys flying those deserve a lot more than they get.

I have a friend who is a Spirit captain. Their union has negiotiated a pretty good deal and he gets paid well and isn’t under too much pressure. But for like 8  years before that he ground it out on regional jets for a United affiliate was never home stuck in nowhere towns and only makes something like $30k. I don’t know how he held out long enough to move up.

Pretty much the same story here, except I flew Delta’s peeps around and now I’m with a big guy I prefer not to disclose. Life is great, but it sure did suck for the first 17yr of my career. Good thing I have a good wife who made better career choices than I did.
