The 931 is going in for a full-on respray in the next week or so. Gotta get it ready by removing all the trim I can and mask all the things I don’t want painted. I thought about repainting it the original Dolomite Grey, then I remembered the blue interior, I’ve already said F*** originality. So I’m gonna do it my way.
I’ve chosen to stick with Porsche colors, and since I hate metallics, solid ones only. And to go with the interior, I’m down to two.
The first is Monaco Blue. A pastel blue offered from 1980-1983. And an ironic companion to my Grabber Blue Mustang.
The second is Slate Grey. Not the metallic version, but the solid version offered throughout the 60s and quite possibly Porsche’s most iconic neutral color. Above is Steve McQueen’s 930, his last special ordered car that’s in Slate.
Honestly, I can go either way.

Slate, slate, slate. Then the interior still matches, but is a lovely surprise.

I would say Miami Blue, but it might clash with the interior too much. The blue interior limits on what can work. Chalk look nice.

Slate. It looks stunning on any P-car.

My money is on slate. A good grey is hard to find, and hard to beat

Slate Grey, with two light grey stripes (of the same colour temperature ) running low down along the sides (below the body line halfway down).
Aww hell yeah :)

I’m apparently not in the majority, but I say Monaco Blue. Goes with the new interior, and makes the car more interesting.

Slate, while maybe predictable, is the right choice. The blue interior will be great with it.

Once again, Dat Blue. Slate Gray is totally awesome, but I think some of its luster has worn off since Audi and others started offering new cars in cool non-metallic grays. Monaco blue, on the other hand, is incredible and rare. Never seen it, come to think of it. Looks the old Volvo and BMW blues that I love so much.

How does a 924 become a 931? Inflation?

The same way a 911 becomes a 930

Would it surprise you if I said I’ve never seen both? I do enjoy how Slate is darker than Nardo.

They’re out there. Audi’s Nardo Grey is my current favorite.
Makes me wonder what the next color "fad" will be. I really liked the smurf blue that was popular for awhile, and seeing yellow again was nice. Maybe we get green back....

Not a chance. I love purple and purple cars but no. He has tan seats and just put dark blue carpet in. That will NOT mix. If I had known purple was on the table I would have pushed a charcoal color carpet. But the situation is ran seats and navy carpet. The car needs to be blue or gray at this point.
Personally I vote for a dark blue between these 2 I vote blue.

In the abstract, I’d say the blue, but given your interior, it’s gotta be the grey. Monaco blue clashes too much.

Yes, but you ruled out the correct color with your insistence on no metallics.
Porsche Midnight Blue. But it’s a metallic base. Though if you’re not opposed to pearls, you could go with a ‘Deep Ocean Pearl’ variant if your paint guy can shoot you a sample of it. I don’t have any photos of a car in it. PPG 14420 base (Toyota Chambord Blue ,) intercoat pearl using PPG VM4506 “Opal ” (try at several densities,) standard clear.
