Need new fronts for my summer set, and thinking about pairing these with the PSS on my rears that still have quite a bit of life left. I’m staggered 255/275, so I’m thinking the slight additional grip in the front may make it feel more like a square setup (many people go to square for more neutral handling on track). Thoughts?

Once the rears are done, I’ll replace to match the fronts.

I drive my car to work a couple times a week, use it for fun drives and backroadtrips, and try to get to the track 1-2 times per year.

I just installed a set on my car on Monday. They’re pretty quiet and nicely grippy. They’re so much better than the stock Goodyear Eagle Sport that come on my Civic Si.

I recommend them, but they’re kinda pricey . If you want to save a bit of money and get a tire that’s just as good every where (save for a little bit louder than the PS4S), get the Conti Extreme Contact Sport

I’ve got them on my M3, quite like them.  I’m sure you’ll feel the difference in grip. I’m running a 245 on the front of my 3, instead of the stock 225, and the difference in grip is noticeable . Personally, I would go with a square set up since you do track it.

I run t hose on my Panamera. Excellent grip on both dry and wet conditions, sharp(er) steering but way louder than the Continental So mething So mething Sport that were on it before.

I can’t comment on track use though.

Thanks - what year is your Panamera?

Going square would mean getting new wheels, and I’m not spending that kind of money at this juncture. One day!

I feel you on that. I want some style 359s for mine, but I can’t justify spending that kind of money.

Yeah, the PS4S are an extra $60 per tire. If I was doing all four, I might switch, but I’d rather have all four tires be as similar as possible (if not the identical ).

They look so good! Unfortunately they’re kind of heavy. Might go with Apex once the time comes.

running them in 255/30R20 on a STI and love them. The grip is silly, but they do throw up tons of rocks.

Very well engineered car, no issue whatsoever.

I lucked out. I lucked out a set of the PS4S with 400 miles on them for less than half what they cost new

Good to hear. Looking forward to going the Porsche fold before too long, maybe in ~5 years with a 2009+ Cayman S.

Your estimate for this one? Sounds like someone may get a great deal because some don’t want to deal with the hassle at the border.

Believe it or not, it’s not a trailer queen but a workhorse, used as the family school bus ... I drop the kids to pre-school every day on my commute to work.

That’s where I recognize /believe/drink the koolaid/f ool myself (pick one) in Porsche’s superior quality : performance cars that really can be driven on a daily basis.

I know, IMS bearing , blah blah blah ... I owned a B oxster before, took it close to 100k miles and never had a single issue with it.

Great miles, no idrive, but in Canada. Those considered, I’m going with 29k. If this was an E90, add about 5-10k to that, and someone would deal with getting it an American passport.

My E90 M3 was my daily for 6 years and 80k miles, now relegated to more of a fun car, but still does chores a couple days per week. I’m definitely with you on the usable performance car front. Wish I could’ve made a 911 happen when the kids were little enough, but I think I’m past that point now. Have to wait for my oldest to start driving so he can shuttle his siblings.

I just bought a set.  They’re sitting in Summer rims in the corner of my garage waiting to go on.  I’ll have an impression of them by Sunday.

When my twins were born, I looked at a 911 to replace/ugrade my Boxster, thinking “eh, it has 4 seats, they’re small in the back but the kids are small too ...” and I quickly realized I couldn’t fit baby car seats in the back ... a nice 996 that was really affordable since unloved/fried eggs and all that BS ...

Wow I'm thinking of the exact same thing. Replace the fronts to go with my almost new Nitto NT555 rears then match when I can. Also same uses. Guess I don't need my own thread, cool!

Rear-facing car seats are so ridiculously huge... Thankfully I’ve just got one left in a booster.

Have a set of Pilot Sport 4S on all corners of my FR-S. Stock size wheels, 215/45 R17 tire size. Very good street tire in both wet and dry (especially coming from the stock “Prius tires”) without sacrificing ride comfort (what little there is in an FR-S) or road noise. Obviously, less sticky than my Toyo Proxes R1R for track dut y, but plenty grippy and slide progressively when pushed to the limit. Very playful autocross tire, allowing for some motion in corners but nothing that will cause a spin.

Thanks! I’ve been most impressed with the wet traction of the PSS.
