While I’m impressed at my stock Honda Fit’s ability to snap an axle, it is damn inconvinent.
Currently waiting for AAA at the roast beef place it happened at.

I assume original axle? How many miles and years? I hate to make grief for Honda but that kind of failure should not happen. Who knows what the axle might have ripped out such as fuel lines or oil sump for the next guy . Here is the site. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

2009 with 165K.
I was trying to take a left through traffic. I gassed it and my boot slipped off the clutch. So I basically dumped the clutch, & don’t blame it for failing.

I always feared that in my dodge caravan. Axle shafts where thick as my thumb and pulling 3,500lbs.

How does a Honda make anywhere near enough torque to snap an axle?

It looks like it rusted under the balance ring where it is thinnest anyway.
