A blast from 2010 to be exact. First time turning this old PC on since then.
Seems to work just fine. Powers up faster than my current laptop.

Mainstream supported ended in 2003, I can see no way that could be a bad idea...

On the other hand, I don’t know how well a more modern OS would run on a machine with 64MB (MB!) of RAM .

Oh, I understand, that’s how I knew the vintage. We have 1 system that has an XP VM on it so it can run VS 6 required to operate some test equipment.....that was constructed in 2012. Some companies refuse to move forward.

I was working with a laptop from 2006 a few days ago and even that had a Core Duo...
This is WAY older than 2010.

I haven't used it since 2010.... It was far from new then!

Evidently so. It probably began with 95 or something. Worked perfectly well as I recall, dial up internet and all. Not used for any kind of business.

The one I work on was a laptop, so it was just 2 Pentium Ms stuck together rather than the full blown Core 2 Duo.
Was reviving the machine as a Chromebook for a senior. Threw in a $20 SSD, m achine was surprisingly usable, even plays YouTube in HD without lag (720, not FHD 1080). Only issue was it was 32-bit only so it’s going out of support for the Chromium OS I used.

Mine was running 4GB of ram (only because I snagged sticks of ram from machines in vacant offices) and doing all the windows 7/office/adobe suite stuff. It was painfully slow, and we started to dabble in Microsoft eT ams just for fun. That meant that anytime someone sent you a message in teams it gummed up the whole works for a minute or two.
After a couple of years on my lack of IT upgrade /replacement cycle policy soap box, we’ve upgraded to refurbished 3rd gen core i5 machines...
