Did you know that a Healthy male weighing 200Lbs requires 160-200 grams of protein per day?
And According to the American Heart Association (AHA), themaximum amount of added sugars you should eat in a day are Men: 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons) ?
And,the Dietary Guidelines for Americans suggest that you can safely consume a maximum of 2,300 milligrams of sodium each day. And, did you know
Men in their 30s are the biggest offenders for excessive sodium intake. This population consumes an average of 4,700 milligrams of sodium on a daily basis
. Men in their 20s are next in line, taking in an average of about 4,500 milligrams of sodium per day?

I am trying to tie up my ridiculously busy week to accommodate the three days I suddenly have to be gone for a funeral. Add to that I have to fly into LGA tomorrow , and I am not a happy traveler.
But hey, at least I’ll have a ton of work piled up to do when I return!

I’ve got plenty of things I could be doing, but nothing I want to do. And replying to comments on this post is just delaying the inevitable. At the very least, I have to get the kitchen cleaned up. At least dinner is already in the crockpot.

Exactly, what I’m saying is eat whatever you want, just watch your sugar, bad fats, and salt and get enough protein.

It’s my last day of the weekend. I did some F12018 on the PC this morning and then cleaned up from finishing laying the new floor in the living/dining room yesterday. That called for a trip to the recycling center to dispose of a truck bed full of laminate flooring boxes, as well a trip to Lowes to return a couple unused rolls of moisture barrier and a stop a Sam’s club for a tank of gas since I was in the area (premium for the truck is $.60 cheaper there than anywhere else in town). The rest of the day will be golfing and beer drinking.

Aww!!! That corgo looks like my parents old corgi, Fitch. His sister, Fiona, looked similar, but with more white on her face, and fatter! Now they have 2 tris. And I have a corgahoula - half corgi, half catahoula, all adorable!

We all have it, it’s just that sometimes your circadian rhythm doesn’t line up with then you need to be awake. As you’ve discovered.

Nah, that’s okay. I got the kitchen done. I have to have at least something to show for sitting at home all day. I did take my son to the doctor this morning. He’s got pretty bad atopic dermatitis (which he got from me, sadly, but interestingly, his supposedly identical twin has none of it). The FDA just approved a new human antibody medication, Dupixent (Dupilumab) for patients age 12 and up. The dermatologist says that within a few weeks the dermatitis will be absolutely gone. Stuff’s super expensive, though, but the drug maker (Sanofi) has a copay card that will make it basically free for me, supposedly. I hope it works. He doesn’t act like he is suffering from the AD , but I feel terrible seeing how bad his skin is.
Maybe you’ve heard of the stuff, being in your line of work and all. Here’s the overly sciency description from the NIH.

Oh, an IL-4R monoclonal! Cool. I hadn’t heard about this one.
Yes, we know about this stuff. Anything with “mab” as a suffix is an antibody or antibody fragment. My wife’s used several of them for her rheumatoid arthritis (I’ve made a few Fc proteins myself for research use) . Dermatology is another big field that uses them because lots of skin problems are immune related.

It’s fascinating stuff. I’ve been dealing with AD for more than 50 years and have just learned to live with it. And the dermatologist said this is just the first, and there are already drugs in the pipeline that will have even more specific targets.
It’s a good thing I have insurance. Two doses of this stuff, enough for one month, is nearly $5,000 full price.

For so many years, dermatologists mostly just had steroids to throw at these things. The advent of biologicals has been a real revelation.

I dunno. They may not have, at least not much of a selection. I remember using calamine lotion for rashes, which was mostly a placebo.
