Solido announces 2CV model in tribute to Les Gendarmes de Saint-Tropez, (which probably inspired the 2 wheel Renault chase in the James Bond movie
A View to a Kill
). Anyways, it’s your typical French
folie
of the 1960s, with Sister Clotide (played by France Rumilly) doing some amazing high-speed 2CV driving

I have the Solido DS. It’s... pretty good. Perhaps not as good per dollar value
as the DS convertible made by Welly, which has an opening engine compartment - but it’s big at least.

A mate of mine who was very, very much into old Citroëns – and, in particular, 2CVs – told me that in the Deuche community there were serious doubts about how much of Monsieur Leray’s a d v e n t u r e was actually true.
In any case it is a fascinating tale. And that machine does exist, which in itself is quite amazing.
