So the vet wants four digits, but only just barely four digits. And we get two lumps removed for that price. So not so bad, not so sad. (She’s smiling at me in this picture.)

Awesome! Glad to hear the happy news. Obviously expensive surgery isn’t great, but if you can manage it and get some more life out of the old girl, while making her more comfortable that seems like a good deal to me.

We had cancerous lumps removed from our dog growing up. He lived another three years before he passed. Easily worth the cost. Glad that your dog will be alright!

Thanks. Surgery quote is $1200, and a biopsy is an additional $425. So we will not be learning whether the lumps are cancerous.

Yeah, I’m happy. I make lots of jokes around the house about how stupid she is and how she’s actually my wife’s dog, but I discovered with a shock today how much I really care about her. She’s an important part of my family’s life, especially my wife’s.

HELOC! We don’t really have a prognosis. The surgery is quoted at $1200 and a biopsy is an additional $425, so nope. Besides, all it would tell us is that the dog has advanced metastatic cancer -- or not -- and if so, maybe the doc should “re-cut for greater margin.” If the lump starts getting gruesome again, we’ll reevaluate. (You would not believe how gruesome this thing is.)
