I’ve decided that I’m going to list the Grom for sale. It has a few outstanding recalls that I will get taken care of first, but then to the block it goes .

Motorcycles on their lowest and highest volume setting

I’ve been going back and forth with the decision as it’s not worth that much in the grand scheme of things. Whatever I get for it outweighs the use value at this point because... I don’t really use it. I chose the M3 over it on almost every nice day last year, and now that I’ve also got the 02 I’m sure I’ll use it even less.

Craigslist is littered with “I know what I have/no low ballers ” listings for Groms asking $3k or more, so I doubt that I will have trouble selling. I’m planning to list for $2800. I’ll be ecstatic with $2500, h appy with anything over $2k and may consider less depending on what is going on with other vehicles.

What does Oppo think? It’s a 2015 with 2800 miles. It’s stock besides an under tail kit (hotbodies) and some KTM mirrors. I have and will include all of the stock parts. Oil changes every 700ish miles with a gaskets and washer each time (I know, overkill).

With my old E90

I have a bunch of super nice riding gear, but I’m planning on keeping that because I want to be able to borrow friends bikes, and will want to have it if I decide to get a real bike at some point.

This is a situation where I might even except trades! E.g. 02 or E46 parts.

Oh... for a second there, I thought ‘W ill G rom’ was some new expression that referred to some act of prostitution...

Good luck. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble selling it, although the weather in PA isn’t very great for riding right now. If you can afford to wait, I’d say try not to drop your price too much and instead wait for the temperature to rise.

I really like the idea of a Grom, and at that price it’s tempting, but I have to admit that I’m too large to ride something that small. Here’s how I imagine I’d look on a Grom:

“ If you can afford to wait, I’d say try not to drop your price too much and instead wait for the temperature to rise. “

That is the plan. I’m in no rush to sell but I know I’ll get the quickest sale for the most money on a nice day in the spring. So I just want to get it cleaned up and listed.

I’m 5'10" 170lbs and feel like the big bear at the circus on it. It’s what makes it fun but also what makes it not fun on main roads.

If I was 170 pounds I'd feel ok on a Grom, but I'm 5'6" and the first digit of my weight is a 3, so no Grom for me. I'm not sure it could move my weight very well.

i get the feeling the main reason you take the BMW is because, frankly, groms are USELESS.

hella fun. but if you want to actualkly go anywhere, literally any other bike/car is better for it. (aside from maybe a Z125, but thats basicly a green grom at this point)

I was away from oppo when that happened. I had to look up how much they are new; didn’t realize they were that inexpensive.

Yeap, as soon as the novelty wears off it’s over. Commuting on it sucks, and I quickly grew tired of the few local roads where it’s fun to ride. Those same roads are also awesome in the 02.

It’s about 4k out the door, not bad but for just a smidge more you can be on a full size bike.

New or used bike?

I’m not into bikes at all, if you can’t tell. Nothing against them, just don’t care for them.

There are plenty of new full size bikes at the 5k mark. Obviously you could get a lot more bike used, but bikes like the Yamaha R3, KTM 390 Duke/RC 390 are 5k ish new and are a lot more versatile than a Grom.

I have actually considered trading it on something bigger, but I’m not trustworthy on a faster bike. Cars are my passion but I’m a slut for the feeing you get hanging over each side of the bike bombing through turns as my vision becomes ever more tunneled. Every time I get on someone else’s bike I tell myself to take it easy, but I just can’t.

I think your pricing strategy is spot on.
