The ribbon cutting for our new engine test cell was today. It’s capable of running engines up 150,000 lbs of thrust and is the highest rated cell in the world.

I can’t imagine engine thrust will get much higher than 115k. Unless Airbus does something crazy like redesigning the A380 as a twin? /s

I figured. Are airlines really anticipating a 150,000 pound engine? Or is that just for lots of wiggle room? I guess the 9X isn’t really all that far away from that target.
