Got my ThinkPad back today after two weeks of it being away for repairs. Process was simple (minus them not being able to find out my laptop model at first, and my last name not fitting on their forms second). I'd recommend them.

What was wrong with it, if I may ask? (I do computer repair on the side)
Assuming repaired under warranty?

Some of the keys on the keyboard stopped working. They replaced it under warranty (which I only had seven days left on).

“and my last name not fitting on their forms second”
Must be a really poorly designed form if your last name “B” won’t fit.

Nice, luckily keyboards are usually pretty cheap and easy to replace most of the time even if it wasn’t out of warranty! Lucky it still was though! :D

I had an x1 carbon motherboard fail less than a month out of warranty and Lenovo essentially told me to go fuck myself. I used the AMEX extended warranty to get my money back and bought a Macbook Pro. I had a Macbook Air that lasted me almost seven years with no issues prior to the Thinkpad. A motherboard failing within a year on a laptop advertised as “business ready” left a really bad taste in my mouth, even if it was probably a rare occurrence .
I will say that i t was a fantastic laptop when it was working though.

Yeah. They gave me the offer of "we can get a new keyboard to you tomorrow" as well. I thought that was a smart move.

I’m reasonably happy with my current Asus, but my RMA experience with the old one was a bit lacking:
Get RMA (so good so far!)
Send to Asus (had to pay shipping, which isn’t great, but not unusual)
Asus receives laptop
L aptop missing for a week
Asus fixes one of two issues
S ent back via slow shipping
Back on the phone with Asus, they agree to pay to have it overnighted back to them to fix remaining issue
They fix it
And then send it back via slow shipping
So yeah, I can put up with that compared to save vs. a comparable T hinkpad, but clearly there is some getting what you pay for.
My current Asus hasn’t had any issues aside from the touch screen not working after sleep/hibernation (which would be an annoyance if I ever used the touch screen, but I don’t so it’s just a slightly annoying lack of polish).

It was, especially since I treat my electronics really well. I kept the Air going for 7 years, I keep phones for 3+ years (never cracked a screen either). It just really rubbed me the wrong way that Lenovo wasn’t willing to work with me at all considering their $1500 product failed just a couple weeks after the warranty expired. All they told me was I could mail it to them and pay for a diagnostic fee, and they should be able to figure it out within a month. Plus another 30 days+ (and more money) to actually fix it and get it back to me.
Fuck that, if I could go without a laptop for a month I wouldn’t own one in the first place. Best Buy was able to diagnose it as a broken motherboard on the spot. Sent the forms in to AMEX, they credited my account and I went running back to Apple. Apple has made a lot of really stupid and anti-consumer choices in the last few years, but I do have to give them credit for their customer service. My friend had a key break off on his Air a couple months out of warranty, and they just fixed it for him, no charge.

My ten year old MBP works just fine, I’ve been meaning to put a SSD in it for a while now and use it again. I know people hate on Apple, but I’ve had really good luck with their products, my 2015 Mac mini is still going strong.
The only problem I have with Apple is their keyboards aren’t beer proof, but that’s usually my own fault.
