of people yelling at me for THEIR bad driving.
Example 1 - 3 way stop. I’m clearly 2nd to the stop so i wait for the guy on my left. and wait. nothing. 5 seconds at least, which is a long time at a stop. So I go, then he suddenly starts going. We do that stop start thing a few times then I roll through and then as I pass he gives me a sarcastic thumbs up. Really? Holding a phone in the other hand.
Example 2 - In the intersection waiting to turn left, the light is turning yellow. About 100 yards from the light in the opposing lane a truck and an accord are approaching the light. I start to turn as the light turns red. Not in a hurry, just clearing the intersection per the law. Here comes accord running a very red light and nearly hitting me. He slows to a stop and swerves out of my way...flips me off and yells “what are you doing?!”. What am I doing?! Keep in mind that he saw a yellow light 100 yards at least before he decided to run it.
The hell people?!

Ugh. I was at a four way stop recently. Came to a complete stop, started creeping forward because people always try to cut me off, saw the person to my left stop and then immediately get on it and then honk at me like i just ran a stop sign. Sure.
A week later, same stop sign, way more snow on the ground, the same thing happened minus the honk. The worst part though, was that the person behind them then just blew the stop sign. So i got a nice 2 for 1 on getting cut off that night. Because its snowy out, lets ignore stop signs.

Example 1 happens to me so often I wonder if people are doing it on purpose.
I think, what I would like to see is a “The Sims” like bubble above everyone’s car indicating state.
“Looking phone” “Undecided” “Wanting to turn left” “Ignoring right-of-way” “Drunk” “Abraham Lincoln”
One can dream.

On Saturday, my wife and I went out for an evening walk. While we were out I asked her “when you see a car do you automatically assume they’re about to do the dumbest thing possible or is it just me?” Pushing a stroller around neighborhood streets is stressful.

No doubt, stroller life was terrifying.. Now at least kids are better at jumping out of the way. Still scary though..
Our Elementary school has a parent
drop off loop, and then
a bus loop. The bus loop is 20ft closer to the door and means it gradually
plugs up with parents trying to give their
spawn
an advantage at life.. I walk from a block back
with both kiddos and it’s hectic getting by on the sidewalk.

i have to go through a 4 way stop every day on t he way to work in back. I’ve come to realize that its too much for people to comprehend so if i wait a few seconds and they don’ t take their turn i just gas it.

That’s one major advantage to our location... The elementary school is about .3 miles, and the middle school is about the same. F*** sitting in that car line.

Yup.
I just don’t understand how someone can have t he gall to rage against somebody who was obviously paying mo r e attention than they w ere. People need to be more respectful of right-of-way and stop being hypocritical about who needs to be more careful .

I find that as I get older, a good old-fashioned “dead head shake of disappointment” is a lot more fulfilling than flipping off bad drivers. But I still do that a lot, too.

Regarding #1, and maybe I’m being an A-hole here, but if I’m at a 4-way stop and nobody is going after a 2-count, I just go. Whether it’s my turn or not. I figure in the long run, I’m making traffic flow smoother. If nobody is willing to accept the right of way, I’ll take it. I get almost no push- back from that either.

Yep, no need to hold up traffic further if the other party is clearly not going to move. And if they were but were just slow on the start, you’ll be clear of the intersection before they’d get to you anyway.

Example two is why i will never go through the light until opposing traffic has stopped or made clear indications of stopping , no matter how red the light is. I see way too many people “just go for it” when I am approaching a light. I mean, have fun getting to wherever you are going 3 seconds faster. In LA, nobody follows traffic laws of any sort so I always expect red light runners.

A few months ago, I had some guy try to run me off the road for letting him go in front of me where two lanes merge into one before a roundabout. People are f u c k i n g nuts!

I find that if I’m driving my wife’s minivan, there are very different responses than when I’m in the Landcruiser. LC get’s more respect, Same driver, same habits and style, different result. Minivan’s are for pleebs.
