This centre stack is the sort of place you’d want to inadvertently rest your elbow.
Exc ept don’t. Because that big red knob does this:
Fortunately the box was mostly empty. But still, oops.

Did I design this interface poorly?
No, it is the users that are wrong

It looks like it’s purposely placed there just to get smacked by your elbow- it even looks very inconvenient to reach with your hand. Also, how many controls does a dump truck need (I’ve only ever driven basic day cab tractors)?!

At least it isn’t an ejection button.

I was wondering if it might be set-up for a plow. I’m not certain though because the last picture doesn’t show a salt spreader unless it’s just not installed.

It is in fact a plow truck. The controls are for front and wing plows, in addition to the hoist, as well as for the sander. The sander is at the front of the box, which is why you can’t see it in the photo. There’s a chain that feeds it, and the box floor lifts up to dump within the box onto the chain, so there are controls for all those functions as well.

I mean I shouldn’t have set my elbow on the thing conveniently placed below my elbow, no . To tell you the truth I don’t even remember whether or not I set my elbow on it, I may have just smacked it while shifting.
