I was very intrigued by this car. Vintage Mercedes coupe with a 4 speed.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I don’t know how long the listing will stay up, auction was today. I am on mission to broaden my horizons automotively and have never had anything like this. Unfortunately I am also trying to finish my garage project, so lack time and space.

It really wasn't the right time, but still a little sad for the opportunity missed.  I hope it didn't go cheap.

Can you find what it went for? Euro spec car, and looks pretty solid in the pics. You’d want to look for rust, as these cars can have issues. Steering wheel is from a 1964/65+ car, old MBCA sticker on the window bodes well.  This is one you’d probably want to clean and renovate lightly, as restoration costs would be prohibitive.

I don’t know, suppose you could call them, not a big auction house, don’t think they would publish results. Yes that was my thought, hopefully wouldn’t take too much to get it running, though no doubt something took it off the road. Body looks pretty solid, and paint old enough that hopefully not hiding a lot.

Looks like maybe some rust out on right rear bumper-which you usually don’t see unless a car is pretty roached out. Oh well.

Didnt know the steering wheel was not original, I like the looks, but love the int eriors and engineering on these d Mercedes. W as hoping maybe I  could pick it up cheap.

Maybe they’d tell you. Chrome rust isn’t a big deal, structural rust can really hurt these cars though, and like most 60s cars, they weren’t perfectly rustproofed. Problem areas are floors, sills/rockers, trunk, and the area around the headlights. It’s also a fuel injected car, which is good if the system has been maintained - easy to live with.  I have the sedan version of this car.

I think sometime in 1963-64 maybe 65 the horn ring went from round to flat on top.   These cars have some value if in mint condition, but are best kept as drivers if they are far from perfect, as they cost a lot to get right.

I’d like to know the story. Probably owned by some airforce General that moved from Germany to Omaha. Seems like a trash heap of a town.

There is not much to Pacific Junction, it is home to a regional racetrack, http://www.racewayparkofthemidlands.com/site/#./Home  only reason I have ever been there.  Looks like the auction house is located there.

Yes, it has changed names and management a number of times over the years.  Same place, no other road courses near there.

No, Hot Wheels actually, but nice for a Hot Wheels car.
