Agreement in principle with a dealer out of state on a 2011 GS350 in Smokey Granite Mica. About 100k on the clock and 12k out the door. Inspection scheduled at the local Lexus dealer on Monday. Looks identical to the one below:
I’m going to miss my S3, but this actually has more horsepower than the S3. A bit less torque and a lot more weight, it’ll make a comfy cruiser that I literally plan on keeping indefinitely (for real this time).
Plan is to repay myself for it and then be debt-free aside from the house by the end of 2020, then finally get my P-car.
Fingers crossed for a clean inspection on Monday!

Ooh, nice! I always liked the looks of this gen better than the newer one (I had a 2015).
Fingers crossed for the inspection! These are pretty reliable cars though as long as maintenance is done.

Thanks! I do as well - I liked their styling language of that time period quite a bit, also owning a 2010 IS. Maintenance looks pretty regular on the Carfax, but hopefully the dealer can confirm.

I hope it’ll be a ride that can go another 100k.

Yeah - as an added bonus, your typical Lexus buyer is highly likely to keep up with that maintenance, but nice to back it up if you can.

And so the Lexus takeover of Oppo begins... GS430 would have been even more baller. Couldn’t find any good ones?

Why are you getting rid of the S3? Good luck with the inspection!

GS350? Noiccceeee :)
Packard in 2020? How classy!

For sure - first owner was a lease, second owned it for seven years.

In that generation it’s a GS460 and I only found one that looked a little tired. I figured the 350 was more ubiquitous and should be a bit easier to maintain.

This is step one of trying to move to a debt-free lifestyle!

LOL - that’d be awesome as well.

That’s a pretty good first step! Let me know if you need any help, I made that switch as well :)

Yep - using the equity in the S3 plus some cash to buy this outright, then will pay myself back over the next few months, pay off my remaining student loans and then my wife’s car a couple years early. Those three things alone will change our monthly outlook by about $1k.

Nothing quite like the feeling you get paying off that last student loan payment. Sounds like a good plan and one that will only get easier as you progress.

My previous car was a CPO 2008 with chrome wheels. M ake sure you get ceramic brake pads if it doesn’t already have them, the stock pads dust just as bad as an Audi (I moved to an S4, sometimes miss the comfy ride of the Lexus)

Good buy with those miles! The 3.5 is plenty to run those comfortably. T hats easily a 14k car before taxes out here in the pnw.

I was contemplating getting one of those several years ago, but decided on a GTI. I wasn’t sure about aftermarket support for one of these if I decided that I wanted to go fast(er).
Nice machine though. Have fun.

A must - the pads on the S3 have been soooooo dusty.

I strongly doubt I’ll do anything to it outside of wheels/tires and maybe a bit of dechroming.
